Starrett Bi-Metal Metal Cutting Reciprocating Saw Blades are made for tradespeople who cut metal every day - pipe, conduit, stainless steel, sheet and structural sections. Each blade combines a high-speed steel cutting edge with a flexible alloy steel back, so the teeth stay sharp while the body resists snapping in demanding conditions. Choose the tooth pitch to suit the thickness of what you are cutting. 14 TPI suits thicker sections and heavier-wall pipe, 18 TPI is a good all-round metal pitch for tube, angle and medium-gauge material, and 24 TPI gives the smoothest cut on thin sheet, thin-wall tube and conduit. As a rule of thumb, keep at least three teeth in contact with the work. Lengths of 102mm, 152mm and 203mm are available. Shorter blades flex less and are easier to control in tight spaces, while longer blades reach through larger sections. The narrow 8mm-wide 102mm option is handy for curves and cut-outs. Every blade is 0.89mm (0.035") thick with a unified shank that fits all major brands of reciprocating saw, and you can choose packs of 2, 5 or 20. A precision-ground tooth design reduces vibration, giving smoother cuts and less strain on you and the saw - ideal for long days in construction, demolition, HVAC installation, plumbing and metal fabrication. For the longest blade life, let the saw do the work rather than forcing it, use a slower stroke speed on metal, keep the saw's shoe pressed firmly against the work, and use a cutting lubricant on stainless and harder steels where practical.
