Application

Fine TPI bimetal bandsaw blades in this configuration cut thin-wall metal tube, sheet, and precision aluminium extrusions cleanly, with minimal burr and good dimensional control.

Bandsaw Blade Width: 1/2"

At 1/2" wide, this is the most common general-purpose bandsaw blade width. It tracks reliably for straight ripping, resawing, and gentle curves on mid-size floor-standing machines, and is the default choice for most wood and light metal bandsaw blade work.

TPI: 24 TPI

Finest cut — very thin sheet metal, delicate brass, and thin-walled precision tube.

Keep at least 3 teeth in contact with the workpiece at all times for efficient cutting and to avoid stripping tooth tips. For thin-wall or variable-section material, variable-pitch bandsaw blades reduce harmonic vibration and extend bandsaw blade life.

Bandsaw Blade Length: 835mm

A 835mm bandsaw blade fits compact benchtop bandsaws. These smaller machines are common in hobbyist workshops and light trade use, where work-piece size is limited but the machine is portable and cost-effective.

If your saw requires a slightly different bandsaw blade length, enter your exact measurement in our configurator — we cut bandsaw blades to any length within our range. The loop length is always measured with the bandsaw blade ends joined as they run on the machine.

Choosing an 835mm 1/2" 24 TPI bimetal blade

This 835mm bimetal bandsaw blade is 1/2" (about 12.7mm) wide with a 24 TPI pitch, the finest of the common metal-cutting pitches. Choose it on a small bandsaw when most of your work is sheet, thin-wall tube or small profiles.

The teeth are only about 1mm apart, which means three teeth span just over 3mm of material. That is what thin metal needs: plenty of small teeth sharing the work so none of them catches on the edge of the wall. In thicker material the tiny gullets fill quickly and the cut slows, so pair it with a coarser blade for heavier jobs.

A bimetal blade has a high-speed steel cutting edge on a flexible back, which keeps fine teeth sharp in steel, stainless and non-ferrous metals and copes with the constant bending of an 835mm band. The 1/2" width helps keep thin cuts square.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a 24 TPI blade cut solid bar?

It will, but slowly, because the small gullets cannot carry much swarf. For solid bar a coarser pitch such as 10-14 TPI is faster and kinder to the blade.

Why are my fine teeth wearing quickly?

Common causes are too high a blade speed, too heavy a feed, or a blade that was not run in gently. Check these before changing to a different blade.
