Application
Fine TPI bimetal bandsaw blades in this configuration cut thin-wall metal tube, sheet, and precision aluminium extrusions cleanly, with minimal burr and good dimensional control.
Bandsaw Blade Width: 1/2"
At 1/2" wide, this is the most common general-purpose bandsaw blade width. It tracks reliably for straight ripping, resawing, and gentle curves on mid-size floor-standing machines, and is the default choice for most wood and light metal bandsaw blade work.
TPI: 24 TPI
Finest cut — very thin sheet metal, delicate brass, and thin-walled precision tube.
Keep at least 3 teeth in contact with the workpiece at all times for efficient cutting and to avoid stripping tooth tips. For thin-wall or variable-section material, variable-pitch bandsaw blades reduce harmonic vibration and extend bandsaw blade life.
Bandsaw Blade Length: 732mm
A 732mm bandsaw blade fits compact benchtop bandsaws. These smaller machines are common in hobbyist workshops and light trade use, where work-piece size is limited but the machine is portable and cost-effective.
If your saw requires a slightly different bandsaw blade length, enter your exact measurement in our configurator — we cut bandsaw blades to any length within our range. The loop length is always measured with the bandsaw blade ends joined as they run on the machine.
Choosing a 732mm 1/2" 24 TPI bimetal blade
This 732mm bimetal bandsaw blade is 1/2" (about 12.7mm) wide with a very fine 24 TPI pitch. It is intended for compact bandsaws that cut thin metal: sheet, light-gauge tube, small conduit, thin angle and fine extrusions.
Twenty-four teeth per inch puts the tooth tips roughly 1mm apart. That lets three or more teeth rest on walls only a little over 3mm thick, so thin material is supported instead of being snatched by a large tooth. The small gullets are the limit: in thick solid stock they pack with swarf and the cut slows, so keep a coarser blade such as 10-14 TPI for heavier work.
The bimetal build gives a high-speed steel edge for heat and wear resistance, joined to a flexible back that tolerates the repeated bending of a short 732mm band. A 1/2" width keeps thin-wall cuts straight and square.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do fine teeth suit thin-wall tube?
More teeth in contact share the load, so no single tooth hits the thin wall hard enough to snag or break off. The result is a smoother cut and a longer blade life.
Should I feed more slowly with a 24 TPI blade?
Use a light, steady feed, especially as the blade breaks through each wall of a tube. Forcing fine teeth overloads them and can cause chipping.
