Application
Fine TPI bimetal bandsaw blades in this configuration cut thin-wall metal tube, sheet, and precision aluminium extrusions cleanly, with minimal burr and good dimensional control.
Bandsaw Blade Width: 1/2"
At 1/2" wide, this is the most common general-purpose bandsaw blade width. It tracks reliably for straight ripping, resawing, and gentle curves on mid-size floor-standing machines, and is the default choice for most wood and light metal bandsaw blade work.
TPI: 14 TPI
Very fine — precision cuts on thin aluminium, mild steel sheet, and intricate plastic profiles.
Keep at least 3 teeth in contact with the workpiece at all times for efficient cutting and to avoid stripping tooth tips. For thin-wall or variable-section material, variable-pitch bandsaw blades reduce harmonic vibration and extend bandsaw blade life.
Bandsaw Blade Length: 732mm
A 732mm bandsaw blade fits compact benchtop bandsaws. These smaller machines are common in hobbyist workshops and light trade use, where work-piece size is limited but the machine is portable and cost-effective.
If your saw requires a slightly different bandsaw blade length, enter your exact measurement in our configurator — we cut bandsaw blades to any length within our range. The loop length is always measured with the bandsaw blade ends joined as they run on the machine.
Choosing a 732mm 1/2" 14 TPI bimetal blade
This 732mm bimetal bandsaw blade is 1/2" (about 12.7mm) wide and has a constant 14 TPI pitch. It suits compact machines that mainly cut pipe, tube, flat bar and small solid sections.
With teeth about 1.8mm apart, 14 TPI keeps three teeth in contact on material from roughly 5.5mm thick. A constant pitch gives a consistent cut and finish when you cut the same kind of stock regularly. For mixed sizes, a 10-14 variable pitch is more forgiving, and for thin-wall tube a finer 14-18 TPI is the better choice.
Bimetal blades combine a heat-resistant high-speed steel edge with a flexible back, so they outlast plain steel blades in metal and handle the tight bend around small wheels on a 732mm machine. The 1/2" width gives a straight, stable cut.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many teeth should be in the cut?
At least three. Fewer than three and the teeth can catch and strip; too many in thick material and the gullets clog. For 14 TPI that means material of roughly 5.5mm or more.
How do I check the TPI of my old blade?
Count the tooth tips along one inch (25.4mm). If the spacing changes along the blade, it is a variable pitch blade and should be counted over several inches.
