Application

Fine TPI bimetal bandsaw blades in this configuration cut thin-wall metal tube, sheet, and precision aluminium extrusions cleanly, with minimal burr and good dimensional control.

Bandsaw Blade Width: 1/2"

At 1/2" wide, this is the most common general-purpose bandsaw blade width. It tracks reliably for straight ripping, resawing, and gentle curves on mid-size floor-standing machines, and is the default choice for most wood and light metal bandsaw blade work.

TPI: 24 TPI

Finest cut — very thin sheet metal, delicate brass, and thin-walled precision tube.

Keep at least 3 teeth in contact with the workpiece at all times for efficient cutting and to avoid stripping tooth tips. For thin-wall or variable-section material, variable-pitch bandsaw blades reduce harmonic vibration and extend bandsaw blade life.

Bandsaw Blade Length: 670mm

A 670mm bandsaw blade fits compact benchtop bandsaws. These smaller machines are common in hobbyist workshops and light trade use, where work-piece size is limited but the machine is portable and cost-effective.

If your saw requires a slightly different bandsaw blade length, enter your exact measurement in our configurator — we cut bandsaw blades to any length within our range. The loop length is always measured with the bandsaw blade ends joined as they run on the machine.

Choosing a 670mm 1/2" 24 TPI bimetal blade

This 670mm bimetal bandsaw blade is 1/2" (about 12.7mm) wide with a very fine 24 TPI tooth pitch. It is the blade to pick for thin metal on a compact bandsaw: sheet, thin-wall tube, small conduit and fine profiles.

At 24 TPI the teeth are only about 1mm apart, so three teeth fit across material just over 3mm thick. That keeps thin walls supported and stops the teeth catching and stripping. The trade-off is slower cutting in thicker material, because the tiny gullets cannot carry much swarf, so use a coarser blade for solid bar.

As a bimetal blade it has a hardened high-speed steel edge on a flexible back, which keeps the fine teeth sharp in steel, stainless and non-ferrous metals and helps the short 670mm band cope with small wheels. The 1/2" width supports straight, accurate cuts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 24 TPI bandsaw blade used for?

It is used for thin material: sheet metal, thin-wall tube and small sections, where coarser teeth would snag or strip.

How can I stop teeth stripping on thin tube?

Use a fine pitch like this 24 TPI blade, clamp the tube firmly, and keep the feed light as the blade breaks through each wall.
