Application
Coarse bimetal bandsaw blades at this width cut heavy solid bar, structural steel, and large non-ferrous sections quickly, with the M42 HSS tooth tips surviving the heat and abrasion of hard cutting.
Bandsaw Blade Width: 3/8"
A 3/8" bandsaw blade sits in the versatile mid-range โ capable of moderate curves as well as light straight ripping. It's a popular all-round width for hobbyist and small-shop bandsaws where you want flexibility between curved and straight work.
TPI: 4 TPI
General purpose โ reliable across a broad range of wood, dense plastics, and light aluminium.
Keep at least 3 teeth in contact with the workpiece at all times for efficient cutting and to avoid stripping tooth tips. For thin-wall or variable-section material, variable-pitch bandsaw blades reduce harmonic vibration and extend bandsaw blade life.
Bandsaw Blade Length: 1134mm
A 1134mm bandsaw blade fits compact benchtop bandsaws. These smaller machines are common in hobbyist workshops and light trade use, where work-piece size is limited but the machine is portable and cost-effective.
If your saw requires a slightly different bandsaw blade length, enter your exact measurement in our configurator โ we cut bandsaw blades to any length within our range. The loop length is always measured with the bandsaw blade ends joined as they run on the machine.
Choosing a 1134mm 3/8" 4 TPI bimetal blade
This 1134mm x 3/8" (about 9.5mm) bimetal bandsaw blade has a very coarse 4 TPI pitch. It is designed for fast cutting of thick material on a small bandsaw, rather than for neat cuts in thin stock.
At 4 TPI the teeth are more than 6mm apart with large gullets, so the blade removes material quickly and clears waste well in deep cuts. To keep three teeth working you need roughly 19mm of material, so it suits thick timber, thick plastics and larger solid sections. For tube, sheet or thin profiles the tooth spacing is far too wide and the teeth could catch and strip.
Bimetal blades combine a hard high-speed steel edge with a flexible alloy steel back, so this blade keeps cutting for longer and copes with the tight bending of a short 1134mm band. The 3/8" width allows moderate curves as well as straight cuts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a 4 TPI blade good for deep cuts in wood?
Yes, the coarse teeth and large gullets clear sawdust well in thick timber. Feed steadily and let the blade do the work.
Why does a coarse blade give a rougher finish?
Each tooth takes a bigger bite, which is fast but leaves deeper marks. Choose a finer pitch if finish matters more than speed.
