Application

Fine TPI bimetal bandsaw blades in this configuration cut thin-wall metal tube, sheet, and precision aluminium extrusions cleanly, with minimal burr and good dimensional control.

Bandsaw Blade Width: 1/2"

At 1/2" wide, this is the most common general-purpose bandsaw blade width. It tracks reliably for straight ripping, resawing, and gentle curves on mid-size floor-standing machines, and is the default choice for most wood and light metal bandsaw blade work.

TPI: 14 TPI

Very fine — precision cuts on thin aluminium, mild steel sheet, and intricate plastic profiles.

Keep at least 3 teeth in contact with the workpiece at all times for efficient cutting and to avoid stripping tooth tips. For thin-wall or variable-section material, variable-pitch bandsaw blades reduce harmonic vibration and extend bandsaw blade life.

Bandsaw Blade Length: 1134mm

A 1134mm bandsaw blade fits compact benchtop bandsaws. These smaller machines are common in hobbyist workshops and light trade use, where work-piece size is limited but the machine is portable and cost-effective.

If your saw requires a slightly different bandsaw blade length, enter your exact measurement in our configurator — we cut bandsaw blades to any length within our range. The loop length is always measured with the bandsaw blade ends joined as they run on the machine.

Choosing a 1134mm 1/2" 14 TPI bimetal blade

This is a 1134mm bimetal bandsaw blade, 1/2" (about 12.7mm) wide, with a constant 14 TPI pitch. A 1134mm length is found on small bandsaws, so this is a blade for compact workshop machines used for light metalwork and maintenance jobs.

With 14 evenly spaced teeth per inch, each tooth is roughly 1.8mm from the next. Keeping at least three teeth in the cut means it is happiest on material from around 5-6mm thick: medium-wall tube, angle, flat bar and small solid sections. A constant pitch gives a consistent, predictable cut when you are cutting the same sort of stock again and again. For very thin walls, choose a finer pitch; for thick solid bar, a coarser one clears the chips better.

The bimetal construction puts a high-speed steel edge on a flexible alloy steel back. The edge copes with the heat of cutting steel, stainless and brass, and the back survives being bent around small wheels thousands of times. At 1/2" wide, the blade tracks straight and will follow gentle curves only.

Frequently Asked Questions

What thickness of metal suits a 14 TPI blade?

As a rule of thumb, material from around 5-6mm upwards keeps three teeth engaged. Thinner tube or sheet is better cut with 18 or 24 TPI.

How do I check my machine takes a 1134mm blade?

Look at the machine plate or manual, or measure the old blade. Our How to Measure guide shows how to measure a blade accurately, including marking it and rolling it along the floor.
